“The staff were wonderful. The room was ok. the bathroom had hair balls on the floor. The vent in the bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned. Shower curtain had mildew on it. And there is nowhere to even hang a towel when you got out of the shower. The bed was very comfortable. The rest of the room was clean”

“This hotel opened its restaurant at 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026, for breakfast for guests who were booked for a train excursion that boarded at 7 a.m. What excellent service. We talked to other people who had stayed at other local hotels and were told that some hotels did not alter their hours to accommodate this important event (the train ride to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States). Kudos to the Doubletree in Newark, Ohio.”

“Great place. Clean, staff was good, rooms are great The only thing I didn’t like was that you could not turn on the fan to run constantly (to block noise) It was a quiet place so didn’t need it. Overall, terrific HI Express.”

“Great night away from home. Kids loved the pool. I love the pool is Salt Water instead of Chlorine. ”

“The breakfast was delicious, but there were stains in the bathroom, the tub was peeling, and it all just felt old. Additionally the curtain in our room was missing part of it and it had been installed off center so the parking lot light right outside our window was shining through. We had to keep the wardobe door open to block the light from shining right onto the bed where we were sleeping. ”
